
FiveMyles was founded and incorporated as a non-profit in 1999. Our mission is to advance public interest in innovative experimental work; to identify and exhibit the work of under-represented artists, and to engage the local community through participation in the arts.

Carla's is a unique hybrid between a dress shop and trade school. But there's more to this Bed-Stuy staple then just taking sewing classes or buying a custom dress. Carla's is committed to the service of it's surrounding community - particularly lending a helping hand to victims of domestic violence and empowerment to all women.

Founded in 1994, this inspiring dance theatre is the only one that offers an arts education component connected to high-level artistry. The long-reaching roots of CREATIVE OUTLET, stem from the vision of Brooklyn-born choreographer, Jamel Gaines. The company has collaborated with such artists as Michael Jackson, Malik Yoba, Max Roach, Savion Glover, and Jennifer Holiday. They have performed in major venues and festivals including The U.N., Acapulco Black Film Festival, BAM Dance Africa, 651 Arts, Brooklyn Museum of Art and Lincoln Center Out of Doors.

Formally established in 1998, the group is uniquely positioned to appeal to audiences who want to see work from a multicultural perspective. The work of EGDG is based in modern technique but informed by an Afro-West Indian aesthetic, combines a sensational cast of dancers who deliver beautifully memorable movement and emotion throughout each performance.

By providing programs in cultural awareness, performing and visual arts, as well as academic instruction, health and wellness, Ifetayo strives to enhance the livelihood of persons of African descent. In addition, Ifetayo provides social services to our students and their families either directly or through referrals to strategic partners
