Watch the Chef get his groove on while cooking and dancing in the open kitchen. The close setting is intimate, and the resulting atmosphere is happy and festive.
Abu's Bakery, located in the heart of Bed-Stuy, specializes in such classic down-home delights as Strawberry Short Cake, Carrot Cake, Cheese Cake, German Chocolate, and even Bean Pies. Abu’s is a charming family-owned bakery where everything is prepared the old fashioned way—from scratch—with only the finest all natural ingredients.
Bread-Stuy coffeehouse and bakery a comfortable space, along with fresh breads, fine desserts, customized cakes, and gourmet savory items for local artists, entrepreneurs and the general public to work, share ideas and enjoy the beauty of the Bed-Stuy neighborhood. Bread-Stuy offers free Wi-Fi, features a lovely garden area, and always plays great music.
Brooklyn Moon Café’s Caribbean/ Southern cuisine is fantastic and prepared with the freshest ingredients. The service may be a little slow during peak hours, but the food and the prices are worth the wait. If you arrive before 5 pm, you’ll have the happy option of ordering from the $5 “anti-Bush menu” (this happy opportunity alone is worth the visit!) and enjoy a tasty meal for only five dollars.
Brooklyn residents will swear by Buff Patty’s mouthwatering Jamaican patties, curried chicken, jerk beef, and more. The portions are large and generally no more than seven dollars. Three to four tables fill the small space along with a long queue, a testament to the craving-inducing quality of the food, but service is friendly and efficient and the line moves quickly.
