Patrons of Five Spot don’t necessarily come here to eat the heavy soul food—although the ribs and Po’ Boys are quite tasty and they serve heaping plates of Grandma’s southern cuisine: grilled honey mustard chicken, collard greens, cornbread, candied yams and countless other delectable dishes—they come to groove to the DJ spinning every night of the week. The restaurant keeps a well stocked bar with an entire menu of beachy mixed drinks, making it easy to understand why one customer called it “the happiest place on Earth” (or at least in Fort Greene).

Be sure to stop by on Saturday, June 11th for the BK Nation Networking event and  on Tuesday, June 21 for Music on Myrtle: Celebrate the Summer Solstice event for the Soul of Brooklyn Week!
